STEM week Waikowhai student led toolkits💻
Asalaam Alaikum everyone. Today I am going to blog about toolkits. We had a day where we had 3 sessions to explore anything we wanted to. The choices were Book Creator, Drones, Spheroes, Word Art, Music Lab, Makey Makey, Brainbox, Incredibox, Google Maps, and Google slide animation. Apparently we couldn't do drones because they didn't work. It was basically a STEM week. STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, mathmetics. We did a google form to choose our 3 toolkits.
The first toolkit I went to were the drones. We had to wait an hour because aparently the drones didn't work and the people who were presenting the drones were getting frustrated. Only one drone worked which was the one they going to show as an example. So instead we had to explore and try the spheroes. We had to choose our group of four. After that we went to go and get a sphero and only one person had to open there chromebook and get onto the app. It was fun exploring and then they said we could go outside and drive them on the ramps that were out.
The second toolkit I went to was Book Creator. My friends were presenting (Ayana and Nora). They had made this cool slideshow that they had to present. We also got sandpit time (free time) to explore Book Creator and make our own book. I made a book about stuff that related to me and my friends favourite colours. At the end they let us share our books. Somebody made a book about Amongus and my friends shared it with us on the projector so we could see how the book looked like. It was really aewsome because our school principal came in and she was impressed.
The third toolkit I went to was MakeyMakey. It was a music activity. First we had to choose a buddy I chose my other friend (Cherubella) as my buddy. The presenters first showed us a video based on how to put MakeyMakey parts together and what to use to make it musical. We had to use playdough and lego. If we were using lego we had to put foil on it. My buddy already had gone to the toolkit so she knew what to do. It was kind of funny because it wasn't working for me when I pressed on the playdough. I realised I hadn't put my finger on the right button. It was really awesome. That was my final toolkit that I went to for the day.
I felt really happy to try these toolits. I think we should do this every term.
Here are some photos of the awesome day
Kia ora Amara, The game with the wires and cards I've played that game last year. It's a really fun game I do not know what it's called. Do you know what the game is called I would really like to know what game is.
